St. Lawrence University’s Office of University Communications uses Merit to publicize student achievements. Students will receive special recognition when they make the dean’s list, study abroad, are named to an academic honor society, and much more.

As students, you will receive an announcement for your academic achievements and activities, and you can create an online profile – a Merit page – that you can use for internships, jobs and references after graduation. You can even share your achievements with friends and family through Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels.

          How does it work?

          What is a badge?

A badge is a special symbol that will appear on the your Merit page for recognition of a particular achievement. For instance, if you’re named to the dean’s list for four semesters, you’ll receive a badge on your page each time you receive the honor. Badges accumulate for your entire college career, and you’ll continue to have access to your Merit pages after graduation.

          Claim your page!

If you are awarded a Merit achievement, you’ll receive an email alert from news@stlawu.edu. To redeem your badge, you can either create an account with your St. Lawrence email address or login with your personal Facebook or Twitter account. For more information on claiming your page, click here.

How is Merit important for students?

Merit helps people who make decisions about internships, graduate school admissions and jobs find the “good stuff” about St. Lawrence students.

A Merit page also creates a positive online identity for post-graduation success. Many companies today research applicants online prior to hire. A student’s Merit page is a way for them to shine online.

Students who are featured will be notified through their St. Lawrence email address and encouraged to share their accomplishments with family and friends through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter.

How can I change or update the information I provide through the Profile?

For Profile services and products, where user profile information is collected and stored in order to provide you with requested services, Merit offers you the opportunity to change or update your profile information at any time by visiting the “My Account” section of the Profile.
