Professors Publish Chapter in New Data Analytics Book
Choong-Soo Lee, associate professor of computer science, and Ivan Ramler, associate professor of statistics, had a chapter published in the book Data Analytics Applications in Gaming and Entertainment. 该 chapter, titled “A Data Science Approach to Exploring Hero Roles in Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Games,” used match data to identify and classify character roles in the MOBA game Heroes of the Storm. Professors Present at the Rocky Mountain Symposium
Michael Schuckers, Charles A. Dana Professor of Statistics and director of the Peterson Quantitative Resource Center, and Ivan Ramler, associate professor of statistics, presented at the Rocky Mountain Symposium on Analytics in Sports in August at the University of Denver.
Schuckers’ delivered a talk, titled “Data Analysis and the NHL Entry Draft: A Review,” which was an overview of the work that has been done analyzing data from the National Hockey League's Entry Draft which is the mechanism by which new players are allocated to teams.

Recent Alumna, Professor Present at RIT
Michael Schuckers, Charles A. Dana Professor of Statistics, delivered a talk at the Rochester Institute of Technology Sports Analytics Conference, which was an extension of the senior thesis of Lexi Joy ’19.
