‘Daily Meal’ Praises SLU’s Dining Options
The Daily Meal has once again has named St. Lawrence University among its listing of 75 Best Colleges for Food in America.
The New York City-based publication that covers restaurants, food trends, healthy dining and cooking considered more than 2,000 American colleges and universities and gave St. Lawrence an overall ranking of 63. It praised the Recipe From Home program, which encourages students to share family recipes to be served in the dining halls. The Daily Meal also made sure to mention Canadian Thanksgiving as well as St. Lawrence's infamous Pub Cookies.
“Dining Services has always prided itself on sourcing quality products and providing a welcoming environment,” said Director of Dining and Conference Services David Geleta. “Our goal, and highest priority, is to offer our students the best possible dining experience, so receiving this recognition is a good indication we’re on the right track.”
Dining Services operates a number of eateries on the St. Lawrence campus, including Dana Dining Center, Northstar Café in the Sullivan Student Center, the Grab & Go Café in Johnson Hall of Science, the Time Out Café in Newell Field House and Spartacus Café in Kirk Douglas Hall. Dining Services also works in partnership with North Country Grown Cooperative and other local businesses to provide local foods on our menus.
